UK Music Publishes 2019 Report "Music By Numbers"

Music is not just about fun and expressing your emotions - it is an important industry that generates revenue to society!

From the 2019 annual report of Music by Numbers, the music industry contributed £5.2 billion to the UK economy.

Of particular importance is the section of education and training. The report notes a significant decline of music in schools, and people studying A-level music declining by an alarming 30%. Only 15% of children in state schools receive sustained music tuition. Indeed the 2019 inquiry report of the music industry by Australia Parliament said the same thing - it is reported that so many Australian students do not have access to music education while recognizing its importance to the development and cultivation of Australia’s next generation of artists.
